Generally refers to the art music of the Western world, considered to be distinct from Western folk music or popular music traditions. It is sometimes distinguished as Western classical music, as the term "classical music" can also be applied tonon-Western art musics.

Contemporary

In simple words, contemporary means modern, current, or belonging to the present time, like contemporary art or music. It can also mean happening or existing at the same time as something else, such as historical figures who were contemporaries (lived at the same time).
