Founded in 2008 by Jeri Lynne Johnson, our mission is to take the entire community beyond spectatorship to participation in the musical experience. 

Through unique artistic collaborations and an innovative use of technology, the Black Pearl Chamber Orchestra addresses contemporary issues with unique events that connect classical music with literature, visual arts and the media. 

Our musicians are as diverse as the community we serve and are selected from the best music conservatories from across the nation including the Juilliard School and the Curtis Institute of Music among others.
